B ethany Worship just dropped their latest single ‘Speak’ which is currently streaming on iTunesSpotify, and wherever Android users get their music – we want to say RadioShack?

For CRTVCHURCH, the song has been on repeat since late last night and throughout this morning. While the song is breathtaking, it is the music video that is stunning.

As many of you know Bethany Film + Bethany Creative + Bethany Worship, are the film + creative + worship teams of Bethany Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Their work on the ‘Speak’ music video and their latest trailer for Bethany Conference 2018 has confirmed what we at CRTVCHURCH have known for a long time… This church is one to keep your eye on as they push the creative arts forward to share the love of Christ with the world around them!

Their work has been an inspiration to us and we are thrilled to be sharing in their excitement today as their latest creation drops! Watch below:

Andrew Holley, the DP Director, had this to say about the filming process for Speak:

“The filming process of ’Speak’ was exceptional. It was special in that it was stripped down. The other songs we recorded during that week, we had a full band, a lot of background vocals and a full set, but this song is such an intimate conversation between the worshiper and God. It’s one of those songs that, when you hear it, can immediately bring you into the throne room of God if you let it. We wanted to represent that visually. We gave the video a majestic feeling by choosing to shoot into the light, and the anamorphic lens we used to shoot on gave us some beautiful flares that just helped capture that feeling even more.

Before every video, we filmed that week we wrote down detailed shot-lists, marked camera positions and focal lengths, and we had this same approach going into filming ’Speak,’ but this song was so powerful, and we didn’t just want to capture a music video. We wanted to capture pure, intimate worship. We set the stage just by playing the song and worshipping before we began filming. It was so important for us to get in tune with God to truly capture this song right.

We felt great upon finishing the first take. We were nailing focus, and we had this beautiful, sweeping shot that covered all of our talent. We conversed amongst ourselves and brought up this idea: “What if we nail this thing in one solid camera movement?” So, we scrapped our original shot-list and put all our effort into capturing this in one unbroken shot. This approach to capturing the song was the absolute right choice. We didn’t want to break this moment of intimate worship with any cuts or a sudden change in camera angles. It took us ten takes to finally nail it, and it’s that tenth take that you see in the final video. The result was nothing short of amazing.

It was an incredible experience, and it just goes to show that you can plan out things in advance, but changes happen, and sometimes they’re for the better.

One of the biggest things that stuck out to us was being around people who desired the same level of excellence. And not only a team like that but under leadership like our pastor, Jonathan Stockstill, who requires that type of excellence as well. We are so blessed to be at a church like Bethany who values creativity and trusts us enough to do something like this!”
